Jenkins Law: What Pride Means To Us.

2020 is turning out to be a very challenging year for everyone so far- personally, financially, and everything in between. Some days, it feels like all work and no play.

As you know, June is Pride month, and it’s a chance for the LGBT community across the globe to celebrate in a number of ways. Of course, the month of June was chosen because it’s when the Stonewall riots took place in 1969, and is an opportunity to celebrate how far the community has come since then. Apart from being a month-long celebration, it’s also a time to peacefully protest and raise awareness of current issues facing the community. Happy pride month, everyone!

Good Times

Rainbros Jenkins LawHere in St. Pete, the RAINBROS charity is one that’s close to our hearts. It’s hard to believe that this time last year, we were living it up at Florida’s biggest Pride Celebration. The RAINBROS Pride Party was epic, and we were thrilled to host it. The Pride event was a sparking celebration of our LGBTQ+ community, and honey, it was fabulous. With over 200,000 people partying in downtown St. Pete, it was the highlight of the year. Looking back, we can’t decide on what was the most fun – the Prom in Wonderland, the Drag Brunch or the Stonewall Reception. If you’re in a reminiscing mood, check out the photos from last year, they’re bound to put a smile on your face.

One thing we know for sure, we would love nothing more right now than a glittering parade and a party. But this year, we’re staying apart so that we can be together again. With so many events cancelled due to COVID-19, hold your family close and wave that rainbow flag at home.

Next year

Because of all the sacrifices that you and your family are making, and because of the hard-working frontline staff facing this crisis every day, we will come back stronger, brighter and louder.

In 2021, we will roll out that pink carpet and get our glitter on once again. At the next RAINBROS Pride Party, that champagne is going to taste sweeter, and the sequins are going to be even more dazzling.

Pride

Jenkins Law2020 has given us time to reflect on what pride means to us. We’re proud to serve everyone in our community. Pride means treating everyone with respect.  Jim Jenkins and Kelly-Ann Jenkins take pride in advocating for you. All at Jenkins Law PL are passionate about St. Pete, and proud to live there.

Thankfully, COVID-19 hasn’t diminished our fight. In fact, it has strengthened it. Never before have we been so clear on what matters most. We are facing an unprecedented challenge, but we will rise above it. As individuals, and as a community, we are getting through it together.

So, stay safe, and stay the course. We will be back with a bang for next year’s celebration, and it’s going to be worth the wait.

And remember: if you need us in the meantime, just call. We’re here, and we’re proud to serve you.

We’ve got this, St. Pete.
