Girls on the Run Tampa Bay: Why We’re Proud to Partner

For those of you living in the Tampa Bay area who have not heard of Girls on the Run, where have you been hiding? This awesome group is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd to 8th grade, and we are so proud to be one of their many partners. They do so much more than running, and we salute them.

Recently, they posted:

“Thanks to Jenkins Law for supporting our joyful, healthy, and confident girls.”

However, it’s us who want to thank them for providing such an essential service in our community. We’re proud to partner, and we recognize the importance of supporting girls in the community at a time when these lessons have never been needed more. GOTR offers stability, connection, and movement. They give a safe space where there are no limits. They develop confidence and promote using your voice and feeling strong in your power.

Here at Jenkins Law, that resonates with us. We know what it’s like to have each other’s back. To give a voice to those who need it. We applaud power, and we celebrate strength.

Jim and Kelly-Ann Jenkins are keen runners too, so it’s no wonder that Jenkins Law P.L is happy to get behind the efforts of Girls on the Run.

10 things we love about GOTR

With so much to admire about this group, let’s highlight the top ten reasons that GOTR are making a long-lasting positive effect:

  1. They encourage all girls to cross that finish line, together, so no girl is left behind
  2. They establish a lifelong appreciation of health and fitness
  3. They unleash confidence in young people through accomplishment
  4. They unlock the power and potential in every girl
  5. They use targeted lessons and physical activity to nurture care and compassion in each girl
  6. They develop the connection between mind and body
  7. They give kids the tools to dream, reach, discover, and create
  8. They teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games
  9. They are creating the leaders of tomorrow
  10. They give back to the community by creating strong role models

Bonus points awarded for creativity: despite coronavirus, GOTR managed to run their End of Fall Season Gallery Walk on December 5th, 2020, in Albert Whitted Park, St Petersburg. It was fun to celebrate the girl’s achievements and creations by showcasing their arts and crafts.

To the coaches and volunteers that give their time and dedication, rain or shine, we thank you. We can’t wait to see what you and your girls achieve this year and look forward to the 2021 Spring Season. Keep inspiring us. Keep trying. Keep moving. And more than anything, keep running.

Our promise

GOTR reaches its goal every day by empowering young girls. We promise to be strong leaders in our law firm and in our community – someone for young people to look up to. We promise to be a partner that steps up.

The Jenkins Law team is proud to be a part of the St Pete community. Whether that means being there for you when you’ve suffered a personal injury such as a bicycle collision or a car accident, or whether you need someone in your corner to help settle an insurance claim following fire, flood, or hurricane, we are here for you.

If you need a running mate when the finish line seems out of reach, just get in touch. Like Girls on the Run, we’ll keep on running ‘til we get you there.
