Abbie Cuellar

Abbie Cuellar was born and raised in New York City. She attended New York University’s Stern School of Business, graduating with a major in Economics and Political Science. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Abbie began working for Legal Aid in New York City, where she saw the faces of those most dramatically affected by injustice as well as the tremendous impact of good lawyering.

Abbie attended Rutgers School of Law, graduating in 1995. While in law school, Abbie worked as legal research and writing instructor, served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association, and contributed to the scholarship of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter.

After graduating, Abbie began working at the Miami Dade County State Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, she handled all aspects of complex criminal litigation, from case development to verdict and sentencing. She prosecuted felony-level crimes, including trafficking, sexual battery, armed burglary, and attempted murder. After working as a prosecutor, Abbie served as a Guardian ad Litem, where she provided legal counsel and representation in cases involving abused, abandoned, and neglected children.

Abbie then joined the Miami Regional Counsel’s Office as a criminal defense attorney, managing a wide range of felony-level crimes from initial arraignment to trial. From there, Abbie began practicing in the area of foreclosure law and then subsequently joined a foreclosure defense firm, representing homeowners in contested mortgage foreclosure proceedings.

Prior to joining Jenkins Law, Abbie ran her own law firm, where she focused on consumer law, debt defense, foreclosure defense, identity theft recovery, and criminal defense. Abbie continued her pursuit of advocating for consumers by joining Jenkins Law P.L. and working as a homeowner’s insurance attorney and personal injury attorney in Miami.

Outside of work, Abbie enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring new restaurants.
